About the The Surestart
High-density foam crib mattress with waterproof protection
Our foam crib mattress provides exceptional support and comfort using high-quality materials that far exceed what typically comes with a new crib.
Features
- Base constructed using high-quality 41/150 density foam, 5cm deep
- Foam wrapped in stockinette
- Safetex waterproof band covers the stockinette
Benefits
- This high-quality 41/150 foam offers a level of reliable support, comfort and quality not offered by other UK brands
- The high-density foam resists sagging and keeps its firmness over time
- The stockinette helps keep internal materials clean and intact
- The Safetex waterproof band protects the mattress core from moisture, prevents mould, and is easy to wipe clean
- In the unlikely event any spillage gets through the fitted sheet and cover, simply wipe the Safetex band with a Milton solution or equivalent
A quality mattress will last as long as the crib itself, for many babies. This mattress questions the 'New Baby, New Mattress' rule - products have changed a lot since the 1980s!
About the Coolmax & Maxispace cover Cover
Breathable, temperature-controlled cover for crib mattresses
Our Coolmax & Maxispace cover provides the perfect sleep surface for your baby's crib mattress, combining breathability with temperature control.
Features
- The cover is made of two fabrics - Coolmax and Maxispace
- Full zip for easy removal
- Coolmax fabric top layer
- Maxispace spacer fabric bonded to the back
Benefits
- Coolmax fabric is the top layer, designed to actively wick heat and moisture away from your baby's body, keeping the sleep surface cool and dry
- Maxispace is a spacer fabric bonded to the back of the Coolmax - a cushioned, breathable layer that disperses heat and promotes constant airflow around the mattress
- This bonded fabric is highly breathable and temperature-regulating, allowing air to circulate freely to reduce the risk of overheating
- Comfortable and welcoming surface - the spacer layer adds gentle cushioning without compromising firmness or safety
- This fabric is not waterproof by design, which is why your mattress base has a Safetex waterproof band - targeted protection where it's needed, without trapping heat or blocking airflow
- Hygienic and easy to care for - machine washable at 60 degrees C, the temperature required to kill dust mites and bacteria
- The cover dries very quickly after a fast spin
- Coolmax and Maxispace fabrics are securely fused for long-lasting performance and shape retention
The Coolmax & Maxispace is only on one side because the fabric is expensive, but when you wash the cover just fit it back on the other side of the base to even out the wear. If wee goes through to the cover, just flip the mattress and use the Safetex side for the clean sheet, then wash the cover.
